How we started
Apart from a few praiseworthy projects, sectarian violence all too often goes unheeded in Scotland. The problem seems particularly centred around football. When their friend Mark Scott, a Celtic fan, was murdered returning from a Celtic match, the group formed Nil by Mouth to help combat bigotry in sport.
Our work
The group wrote their own social charter, drawing on the model of Celtic's Social Charter, and campaigned to highlight the issues surrounding sectarianism in Scotland through fundraising at charity dinners, a sponsored walk and an advertising campaign.
Future plans
The project continues as a charity working to combat sectarianism in Scotland, and has just celebrated its 10th anniversary.
