Empowering young Pakistani and Bangladeshi people to overcome prejudice and improve life for themselves and the community.
Who we are
13 boys aged 12 to 16
Where we're based
Keighley, West Yorkshire
When we started
1998
How we started
The group started when three of the young people approached PC David Brown for advice on how to improve their community.
Our work
The group has worked on a variety of projects to benefit the whole community. Working closely with the police the group has managed to ease friction between Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities through a range of environmental activities, including tidying and renovating playgrounds, care centres and living areas.
Future plans
Were you part of this winning group? We'd love to hear from you about what you're up to now!
There's been hostility from some quarters, but they've coped remarkably well and their confidence has soared as a result. They've big plans, including setting up a football tournament with players from diverse backgrounds.
