We give children and young people from disadvantaged communities the chance to experience and participate in theatre often for the first time. We bring together our local community through our performance events, enhancing cohesion and a sense of community spirit.
Who we are
Haringey Shed Youth Theatre are a group of young performers from 11-16 years from a mixture of cultural and economic backgrounds, and including those with disabilities and special needs. We're part of an inclusive music theatre company running weekly performing arts workshops for approximately 200 children and working in local schools running performing arts workshops.

How we started
Haringey Shed was established in 2000 by teachers in a school in Haringey to bring inclusive theatre workshops to children and young people of all abilities in the Borough.
Our work
We work together to create brilliant theatre productions combining acting, music and dance, and as young people we plan all aspects of the shows from the design to the choreography. Young volunteers also support the children's theatre and help shape the organisation through a youth forum. Haringey Shed also run a variety of inclusive performing arts workshops each week during term time. Offering a Children's Theatre (7-10 yrs), Youth Theatre (11-16yrs), Shed Band (9-17 yrs), Shed Moves (movement group) (11-16yrs), Big Noise Choir (7-15 yrs), Very Vocals Choir 16+), Youth Forum (all members), Holiday Shed - school holiday workshops for all ages. We also run drama workshops in schools and offer training to teachers on how to work inclusively and how to integrate drama into the curriculum.
Future plans
We aim to expand on the amazing work Haringey Shed has done in the past ten years. We hope to reach more young people than ever before and to offer an even broader range of performing arts workshops.
