Crosscultures gives practical and emotional support to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants from across the globe.

Who we are

Over 50 young people

Where we're based

Folkestone, Kent

When we started

2004

How we started

Crosscultures grew from plans to enter a Kent-based 'Battle of the Bands' Enterprise Competition, but our fighting prevented our entry. Teamwork was impossible until we started to work together. We learned to listen, talk and support others better.

Our work

English, Roma young people from Eastern Europe, and other ethnicities, come together, passionate to make music, talk about sensitive issues, meet in safe spaces and volunteer to be the change we want to see, starting with me! Together, we cross cultures.

Future plans

Coming together helps us to increase our understanding of others. Winning a Philip Lawrence Award will help us to get stronger to cope with challenges so that young people can voice their choice. We plan "fun at this location, gettin' education, quittin' temptation, supportin' every nation... Training 'n Music-making!"

I really want to volunteer. It helps us to make new friends. We can help other people.
