The Youth Forum is for young people and run by young people. The forum aims to improve relations between different parts of the community and provides a neutral venue, a place where young people can go where they will not be bullied and targeted by sectarian abuse.
Who we are
BACDYF is a charitable organisation which proceeded from CDYF which was set up in 2004. Throughout the past 7 years and more importantly the past 2 years BACDYF has grown from strength to strength. BACDYF is equipped with a 16 piece computer room and a Drop-in facility. Many courses are also run through BACDYF, including, food hygiene, ECDL, CLAIT, cultural identity courses, crime prevention and a much wider selection. Throughout the Summer BACDYF run Summer Schemes to greatly benefit the community especially those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who still live in homes where the troubles of Northern Ireland are still a great influence on their life. The project was designed for young people, by young people, and at the project's core, its Youth Committee

How we started
The Border Arts Castlederg Youth Forum started 7 years ago and in the past 2 years has gone from strength to strength with a computer suite, a drop-in facility and a range of courses. It grew from the Castlederg Youth Forum which started in 2004 when young people from different sides of the community became friends and wanted somewhere neutral to socialise. With the help of funding, a huge base of volunteers, a dedicated youth and management committee and the backing from the people of Castlederg this group has grown into a vital part of our town.

Future plans
We plan to continue the Peace Camp which has taken place for the last two years. Due to cutbacks in funding it will not be running this year unless it is self-funded. It brings together the community and helps cross-border relations.
