The Philip Lawrence Awards celebrate groups of young people who are making a difference in their communities; breaking down barriers, tackling issues, strengthening communities and making lives better for themselves and others.

What you will win
Winning groups will get:
- an invitation to the national awards ceremony
- national and local recognition for their great work
- acknowledged as young leaders
- the opportunity to be part of the PLAnet fellowship and take part in a range of exciting activities including training and residentials.
Up to ten winners announced at our awards ceremony in Spring 2012.
Awards criteria
We’re looking for groups of young people in the UK, aged between 11 and 20, who have a positive impact on their communities.
The judges use the following criteria to decide on finalists and winners:
- Young people are improving their own lives and the lives of others
- Young people are taking a lead and having an impact
- Projects make a sustainable contribution to their community
- Projects make strong links between generations
- Projects help promote active citizenship, crime reduction or community safety
- Projects promote respect and understanding of faiths, culture and communities
